What Is The Most Amount Of Losses A Team Had Going Into A Bcs Bowl Game?

Either Florida or Auburn will get into the Sugar Bowl if LSU goes to the National Championship. Now, both teams have 3 losses. If that stands, will that be the most losses a team had in a BCS game? If not, what is the most, what team, what year, and did they win the game?

Florida State was 8-4 in 2004/5 (loss) and was 9-4 in 2002/3 (loss)
Prior to the BCS games, when they still had the Bowl Coalition, Texas Tech was in with 5 losses in both 1993 (loss) & 1994 (loss).
I don’t know, but I’d bet a million dollars that it was Notre Dame.
Florida St had four losses going into the game and came out with loss number 5. They lost to Penn St in 3 OT’s 26-23 in the Orange Bowl.
Im going to take a wild guess and say 3-4 losses for a BCS Bowl game.
