Free tickets to the Michael Jackson memorial in Los Angeles are being sold for thousands of dollars online.

Some 8,750 names were randomly drawn from an online lottery Sunday and each of those lucky fans has the opportunity to invite a friend with a second ticket.

Selected people are required to pick up their two tickets Monday and organizers will be putting wristbands on those people. Fans must have a wristband and ticket to enter the Staples Center for Tuesday’s memorial.

However, those selected can give anyone their second bracelet.

“Theoretically, the second wrist band can be sold,” said Staples Center spokesman Michael Roth.

The tickets admit 11,000 people to the Staples Center and another 6,500 to the Nokia Theater overflow section next door. Wristbands that are ripped or tampered with will be voided.

The event, starting at 10 a.m. PT, will be streamed online and also shown on at least five networks.  Read more... (164 words)

It was the hottest ticket in town. Over 1.6 million Michael Jackson fans applied to attend tomorrow’s (Tuesday 7 July) memorial service to the King of Pop. And yesterday, 8,750 successful entrants reacted to an email that read: “Congratulations, your application was successful.”

Some fans were delighted, such as Deka Motanya from San Francisco, who tweeted: “OMG OMG OMG OMG I got tickets to the Michael Jackson memorial service.” Others, however, viewed it as an opportunity to make money.

Twitter users such as Unai Montes-Irueste were accepting offers from bidders on tickets to the event. Meanwhile, others were selling tickets for thousands of pounds on eBay in exchange for the relevant vouchers and codes. Refund policy announced for Michael Jackson “This Is It” ticket holders, London.

At this time of mourning for Michael Jackson, we are together in our sadness at the loss of one of the greatest entertainers ever.

“The world lost a kind soul who just happened to be the greatest entertainer the world has ever known,” said Randy Phillips, President and CEO, AEG Live. “Since he loved his fans in life, it is incumbent upon us to treat them with the same reverence and respect after his death.”

AEG Live (UK) Ltd, concert promoters, announced that full refunds will be available to fans that purchased tickets through authorised agents, for any of the 50 Michael Jackson ‘This Is It’ concerts, which were to take place at The O2 Arena in London.

We bought Reading tickets from Ticketmaster in June 08, it was only £166.95 including postage. I realise that the prices when on sale recently were around £20 more. Do you think that its still valid

I am buying tickets to the 2nd leg of Britney’s Circus tour in Atlanta on September 4th… the pre sale starts on Thursday at 10am and it opens to the general public on Friday at 10am. Does anyone know what you have to do in order to have access to the pre-sale? I got access to it on the first leg, but so far the fan club has not sent any codes or anything. I am also a registered member on ticketmaster.com, so do I already have access? I would really appreciate any help possible.
