Sally Kern (r-ok) Has Introduced The Oklahoma Citizen’s Proclamation For Morality. Is She Completely Insane?

The bill blames everyone but the people responsible.
Here’s a snippet.
WHEREAS, we believe our economic woes are consequences of our greater national moral crisis; and
WHEREAS, this nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery; and
WHEREAS, alarmed that the Government of the United States of America is forsaking the rich Christian heritage upon which this nation was built; and
WHEREAS, grieved that the Office of the president of these United States has refused to uphold the long held tradition of past presidents in giving recognition to our National Day of Prayer; and
WHEREAS, deeply disturbed that the Office of the president of these United States disregards the biblical admonitions to live clean and pure lives by proclaiming an entire month to an immoral behavior;http://washingtonindependent.com/49173/o…

She may be part of an almost-cult evangelical movement started by Michael Farris, president and founder of Patrick Henry College in rural Virginia that preaches “cultural war” or “cultural revolution” to children from infancy through teens. Farris successfully pushed to have this homeschooling in all 50 states, and the only students allowed to enroll in his small college are these evangelical homeschooled students, eight of whom were employed as aides in the Bush White House (and one of those, sister to a leader of the movement, was in charge of distributing millions upon millions of federal dollars, illegally and unconstitutionally, to charities out of Bush’s White House-based Office of Faith-Based Initiatives). I have a book that every patriotic American should read as soon as possible, because this movement is deeply embedded into our political system nationwide, from local to state to federal. The Farris college youth are called “Generation Joshua” (as in the Joshua who “fit the battle of Jericho and the walls came tumbling down”—Farris thinks of himself as Moses). I’ll cite the book below (and suggested to the White House that Security people read it too). The message for this cult-evangelist right-wing group is “dominionism” (according to investigative reporter Goldberg, 2006). What this means is that these evangelicals who give a literal interpretation to scripture are directed (by God) to, and they have a right and duty to usurp government authority in order to establish dominion over all “nonbelievers” and over each and every aspect of the American government (which they equate with “the Beast”). Sounds like science-fiction, doesn’t it? But there 22 right-wing Republican Congressmen on Capital Hill who have graduates from this small college in their employ, according to Goldberg, and there are other groups in every state, not to mention having control of today’s GOP. I frankly consider these people—these extremists—to be domestic terrorists and an absolute threat to our nation. Thanks for bringing your Congresswoman’s rant to our attention.

Our economic woes have nothing to do with our current and former president spending more money each year that comes in?
Nothing to do with Bush’s refusal to repeal mark to market as well as putting taxpayer money in banks?
Nothing to do with climate legislation that will outsource more American jobs overseas and widen our trade gap? Largest in the world btw.
I guess it’s the girlie magazines and sex toys that we are broke.

    Dear god….
Has this woman ever even read the Constitution? Does she know we are not a “Christian Country”?
As for the last part… I wonder what that “entire month to an immoral behavior” alludes to. Could it be “Black History Month”?

  • Believe in Possibilities says:

She is obviously part of America’s version of the Taliban. Anyone who agrees with these assertions should not be in charge of anything.

  • Dan says:

    Sally Kern…
Founder and proud member of the new Theocratic Party of the USA.
That’s the first thing I thought of when I read this.

  • Twisty says:

I live in Oklahoma, and yes, she’s insane…I think it’s the water.

  • Gen. Stiggo says:

This is one of the reasons people don’t talk about Oklahoma when they’re discussing the states.

  • happyguy says:

    Short answer: YES.

  • Holy Cow! says:

    Sally Kern is bat$h!t crazy.

  • O'Really says:

pretty much but they keep electing her

  • Jesus says:

I would say yes, especially considering many of the points you highlighted are completely outdated, especially in a secular state.
And everybody especially lawyers and judges realise what is legal and what is moral are two completely different things.
Morality is a personal issue, if something goes against your morals you don’t do it, where as legality is a legal issue, if its illegal you no one does it.
A national prayer, what if you are not religious.
biblical admonitions, i’m british and people say islam is in the dark ages, where the hell is Oklahoma stuck, back there in the crusades obviously.
Whoever this person is should keep themselves out of politics and just become a nun.
