11.08 Design an Experiment or Simulation
For your simulation or experiment, you can set it up any way that you would like to. Here are some ideas for you. The simulations can be performed using coins, number cubes, or spinners where each outcome is equally likely.
A baseball team averages 1 win for every 4 losses. Create a simulation to find the experimental probability for 4 games.
Set up a simulation to find the experimental probability that exactly two children in a family of 4 children are girls.
Survey your friends and family members on the month that they were born and record the data. The more people that you survey, the more info you have.
Simulate the outcome of throwing free throws in basketball.
Have your family play a game 10 times and record who wins.

Here is one possible simulation.
If you assume that a child is equally likely to be a boy or a girl then you can simulate this by the spin of a coin. A head could indicate a girl and a tail could indicate a boy.
Your simulation would consist of spinning four coins together repeatedly quite a few times. Each throw the number of heads is the number of girls in the family of four.
The proportion or fraction of results with two heads would be an experimental probability for the proportion of families with four children that had two girls.
