The size of the ball has nothing to do with it. Really if you think about it, bigger ball means more surface area which means the pressure would be distributed over a greater area giving it a less chance of breaking the board. its the force behind the pitch that breaks it

  • Tones009 says:

He’s also trying to hit it with a wooden bat, softball players use bats that weigh between 20-24ozs. A wooden hardball bat is way heavier to try and pull around in time for Jennie’s pitch.

  • socom2293 says:

this experiment obviously isnt even completed, one you have to have a softball player try and hit a baseball and then do the experiment over and over again with many diffferent players to see if this applies to everyone that plays softball or baseball

  • ruben25r says:

its a different view for the mlb batter which makes it confusing. also because it is under hand the ball tails up instead of down which throw baseball batters off.

  • ruben25r says:

ok the softball is hard not because of skill but because it is different to the batter. the way a softball player throws a ball is accually the right a baseball pticher throws it the wrong way which is way they have a rotation of pitchers a softball pitcher can throw longer because she has no strain in her arm when a baseball pitcher does have strain because of the way the ball is thrown. even though the ball is bigger its harder for a mlb hitter to hit it because the ball is being released down

  • technomaniac8140 says:

no shit she breaks it she isnt tht far away and the ball is much bigger

  • taylormiah0sampson says:

All of you boys are such babies.

  • pookiepower2 says:

write into freaking sports science and complain then. theyll do an experiment with a softball player hitting a baseball and just prove once again its harder to hit a softball than it is to hit a baseball.

  • TheAklay47 says:

lo-to hi trod-rectory pssh what about submarine pitchers!

  • TheAklay47 says:

idk why they used force instead of speed but basiclly its to calculate reaction time, i wish they wouldve gave the batter a softball bat hahaha

  • TheAklay47 says:

and jenny finch is a better pitcher then this no name “flamethrower” jorgenson shes closer and the man didnt get a softball bat this is pretty flawed but overall jenny is the bettter professional pitcher, id like to see randy jonhson or barry zito and a real batter like pujols re-do this whole experiment

  • TheAklay47 says:

of course she breaks it shes 15′ closer and the ball has twice the mass to hit with

  • msueks42 says:

relax… its a chick sport, they just wanna make the show interesting and get a wider variety of viewers

  • byemaxii says:

ok so they bring in a baseball hitter and let him face a girl. how about they bring in a softball hitter and let her face the 95 mph fastball. the girl would shit herself. this is kind of offending to a pitcher such as myself.

  • Petri87 says:

Of course its harder for a BASEBALL player to hit a softball pitch just like its harder for a SOFTBALL player to hit a baseball pitch. And the reason the glass or whatever it was broke was becasue she didn’t hit the center of the plate like the baseball pitcher but the one of the corners, its that simple. Its just that the dude insnt used to a underhand pitch since they dont get many or any of them in baseball.

  • Slugr35 says:

Does someone want to explain to me why the force of the ball coming in has anything to with how hard it is to hit? If you drove a semi-truck into the force plate it would hit with a harder force than either a baseball or softball, but it certainly would not be harder to make contact with. The determining factors should be the amount of time the hitter has to react, the amount of movement the ball makes from a horizontal plane, and the size of the ball.

  • dalton7781 says:

this is gay the author is a queer

  • Quembembole says:

Dudes what is the big deal? Let’s face it Baseball is not harder than Softball but Softball isn’t harder than Baseball, either. We should rather focus on getting our sports back to the olympic games in stead of wasting our time trying to figure out which one’s better!

  • litojonny says:

    guirls that play sports? gross

  • vanna27goat says:

anyone can hit speed it about movement and softball has alot of that

  • omar12345ize says:

    softball wins

  • mphof74 says:

ya ok send it to me in this decade

  • vanna27goat says:

just to make you happy i will post a video of me hitting off of a 95 mph fastball and i will show everyone that it isnt that hard ive done it before but it is hard to adjust to their diffrent pitches speed isnt everything

  • kaizen05 says:

1st one winner was baseball…It only broke cuz the Softball was bigger..more mass=more power…the softball is like Polamalu breaking napoleon dynamite…

2nd: He missed the softball….Cuz thats the only video clip that he actually missed..he probably bombed all of those…

  • wraj55 says:

Ok wtf i bet a pro softball player couldnt hit a baseball, they are equally difficult to their respective sports, i bet most football players cant shoot 3 pointers and most hockey players cant make field goals. total bullshit
