Could I Transfer In A Year To A D1 College To Play Tennis?
I’m 18, I’ve been playing tennis for around three months. I’ve been rated as a ntrp 4.5. Before you say that its impossible to do that, I’ve been playing baseball since I was 10, and hand eye coordination, and athletic ability wasn’t a problem for me in tennis. All I had to do is work on my strokes, and i’ve been doing that 6 days a week/2 hours a day. Thats my only reasoning for how quickly i’ve improved. My forehand is very powerful and consistent, I can place it really well with decent spin, its my one big weapon. My backhand is consistent, but I can only strike it hard If I set up for it, it has lots of spin and is just a rally maintainer. I have to work on my net game and my first serve is very powerful, but I only get it in about 50% of the time and I’m still working on a kick serve. Do you think I could play Junior College tennis and transfer to a D1 college? Im still rapidly progressing.

In my opinion, your progress has been steady and fast, but there will be a point when it becomes much, much slower. If you continue to play THAT often, then yes, I think you could have a shot, though. In my opinion, you won’t be playing for Stanford any time soon, but you do have a shot at D1. Just keep at it, and do your best. Also, transferring is harder than freshman application, so be sure to try really hard in your freshman year college so you meet the qualifications.
It is good that you are practicing a lot and want to improve. If you really want to become a better tennis player I think you can still work more time on that. I have being practicing 3.5 h 5 days a week and playing tennis in weekends and sometime in afternoon and right now I play in NAIA. You would have to work really hard in your game and have a good coach. If you play one year in NCAA that is not D1 in college you would have to sit for 1 year and not being able to play, but if you really work hard I think you can do it, because it seems you have conditions for the game.
