Could I Play Tennis In D1 College?
I’m 18, I’ve been playing tennis for around three months. I’ve been rated as a ntrp 4.5. Before you say that its impossible to do that, I’ve been playing baseball since I was 10, and hand eye coordination, and athletic ability wasn’t a problem for me in tennis. All I had to do is work on my strokes, and i’ve been doing that 6 days a week/2 hours a day. Thats my only reasoning for how quickly i’ve improved. My forehand is very powerful and consistent, I can place it really well with decent spin, its my one big weapon. My backhand is consistent, but I can only strike it hard If I set up for it, it has lots of spin and is just a rally maintainer. I have to work on my net game and my first serve is very powerful, but I only get it in about 50% of the time and I’m still working on a kick serve. Do you think I could play Junior College tennis and transfer to a D1 college? Im still rapidly progressing.

Do you have all the NCAA requirements on check?? From the skills you described I could tell you its gonna be impossible to play for a good school. your best bet is a D2 or A D3. Try a small d3 college and see how you do! you can even probably get a small scholarship.
D1 schools look at your USTA junior ranking and at your high school record too, but with all the foreign players coming over its really tough. I have a student who is playing in NIA and he is loving it, so that is also a great option too.(he played baseball too!!)
